What is Reiki?
The term Reiki (pronounced RAY KEY) is a Japanese word used to describe a system of healing originally known as Usui Shiki Ryoho, or The Usui Way, so titled by its founder Dr Mikao Usui.
REI: Japanese for God, Creator, or Spirit. The term used to describe the creative mind and the creative expression of God, 'all that is', the manifest and unmanifest. The awesomeness of being conscious in a human body and being able to look at space and marvel at the fact you are looking at the past right back to your origins, to 'the big bang'. Everything is 'Rei'; all that you see, smell, taste, touch, feel, and hear.
Rei is creation and simultaneously you know within your heart that you are part of it. It is nearly impossible to give a full complete definition of REIKI. That definition can only be found within your heart.
KI: Japanese for Energy or Power. This is the term used to define life force energy, the vital force that fuels creation. Ki powers the motion of the Universe. It is the force that animates everything in and including the Universe. It is also known in other systems as Prana or Chi. Ki flows through Nadis or channels in our electromagnetic bodies supplying us quite literally with our life force energy. Using Aura photography it is quite possible to record Ki on film as the auric field which surrounds our body is an expression of Ki in motion.
It naturally follows then that Reiki is a system of Life Force Energy Healing.
Some of the many beneficial effects of Reiki treatments can be:
