Angels have always been with humanity, through all of the ages and cultures we can find representations of winged celestial beings and messengers of the Divine. Nearly every culture has drawings, stories and representations of beautiful, light-filled winged beings who share our lives and at times even appear and communicate to us.
Because of the amazing shift and universal awakening at this time, we are becoming more aware of higher dimensional frequencies and beings, and the Angels are becoming more accessible to us. Many years ago, only the mystics and prophets could talk with the Angels, but as we awaken, we now ALL have the ability to communicate with our Angelic guides. Lightworkers, Angel Messengers & psychic mediums who work with Angels, are in most cases helping to open the doorway for you to have deeper communication with your Angels – rather than simply being channels of information to you.
Most of the angel authors agree that there are many different kinds of angels, existing in different realms of cosmic dimensions. Not all authors agree on the realms, what they are called or how many of them exist, but the system of thought most angel experts follow was written in a 6th century book by Dionysius, a disciple of Saint Paul.
Many people use the word ‘angel’ loosely, but generally the word refers to the ‘third sphere’ – those divine beings that are closest to us in human form. Although Archangels are also a part of the third sphere – most people referring to Archangels these days are actually thinking of the higher realms of heavenly beings as a whole, a group that includes many different frequencies of Angels.
Who Are The Angels?
The 1st Sphere – Heavenly Counselors
Seraphim
These Angels surround the throne of God, singing the music of the spheres, and are also often called Elohim Angels. They are responsible for the creation of Divine Will into manifestation and physical form. They are literally, “creation angels’.
Cherubim
These angels work primarily with stars, like our sun, you might call them ‘Solar Angels’ for that reason. They are powerfully golden, with a light like the sun and assist in holding the universe in balance and light.
Thrones
These angels are known for their concern for justice to prevail and for their work fighting injustice. Throne angels go on missions to right wrongs, both to help people and bring glory to God. They oversee the divine plan unfolding on Earth in the highest possible outcome for all.
IThe 2nd Sphere - Heavenly Bureaucracy
Dominions
These Divine managers oversee all of the angels in the other realms. Think of them as ‘upper management’ in a corporation, integrating the physical worlds and celestial worlds. It would be very rare for a dominion angel to contact a human – it’s not really in their job description! However, their work in overseeing all of the other angels still have a profound impact in your life, as they hold a balance between the dimensional reality of our world and the angelic realms.
Virtues
Virtues are able to transmit huge amounts of Divine Energy – As we awaken and are able to hold higher frequencies, the virtues will be available to work with in assisting humanity to awaken to our highest potential.
Powers
These angels are the keepers of our collective consciousness and history. Angels of birth, death and karma are in this catagory. They help us to follow our divine blueprint or plan in life. If you think of a tree soaking up and drawing in the energy of the sun, this is very much the way the Powers draw in the power of the Divine plan. They are able to show you visions of our world and humanity in the future – a grand vision of love and peace on this planet.

Heavenly Messengers to Humanity
Principalities
These are the guardian angels of very large groups, such as cities, countries or community groups. They oversee the movement of each group as they move together into the highest possible path and awakening. When you move to a new city in a different part of the country, you are not only changing location, but likely have a new Principality angel working with you, and the group. Community organizations such as non-profits working towards the higher good of all have principality angels, and even large companies.
Archangels are best described as over-lighting angels, because they oversee large areas of consciousness in humanity, and many people, and these beings are of a very different vibration than the angels. There are many different ‘kinds’ of Archangels, and when you call upon an archangel or over-lighting angel, you call upon their frequency and vibration in your life. Archangels will occasionally communicate directly with humans, but usually pass that job along to the Angels as messengers.
Angels
The Angels that most people are more familiar with, are the angels of the last order. These angels are the closest to humanity and involve themselves in human affairs. They are commonly called Guardian Angels. The word ‘guardian’ is actually becoming out of date, because as humanity awakens, and we move into a time of light and love, we do not need to be ‘guarded’ but rather ‘guided’ into our full awakening and higher consciousness.
